  • 23 Apr 2023

  • Granville Island - Vancouver, BC

Registration

  • Tuition for members of the NSCE is $130.00. We are thankful for the support from the District of West Vancouver in subsidizing event fees for NSCE students. Our costs to produce the 2023 event have nearly doubled, so this support goes a long way in promoting accessibility of this program.

The 2023 Vancouver Youth Fiddle Summit will take place on April 21-23 at Performance Works on Granville Island at the heart of downtown Vancouver, culminating with a performance at Performance Works.

The Vancouver Youth Fiddle Summit is an opportunity for advancing young fiddle ensembles in Western Canada to meet, build friendships, and make great music together. This year’s other participants are the North Shore Celtic Ensemble (Vancouver), BC Fiddle Orchestra (Victoria), the Bow Valley Fiddlers (Calgary) , Coastline (Victoria) and Fiddleheads (Whitehorse).

Participants will have a chance to take workshops with other ensemble directors to develop a shared repertoire, improve technical aspects of their playing, and explore other aspects of performance and stagecraft. Participants will have opportunities for collaboration through workshops, performance, and public engagement.
